Background
A childhood dream to be a military pilot was dashed when Keith Ferris was discovered to have an allergic condition that prevented him having the inoculations needed to travel the world.  Instead Keith channeled his energy into his other lifelong obsession, aviation art.  Initially he worked in a commercial art studio that specialised in contracts for the United States Air Force, latter he went freelance serving manufacturers, trade publications and museums amongst many other aviation related clients.

Keith Ferris is a life member of the Society of Illustrators and for many years has served on their Air Force Art Program.  One of his more practical contracts has been to help develop new air combat camouflage schemes for the Air Force.

For Collectors
The original artwork of Keith Ferris is in high demand from military and commercial clients all over the world. Particularly of note are two 75 foot wide murals in the National Air and Space Museum, one features B-17s, the other the evolution of jet aviation.  Well over 30 of Keith’s paintings have been released as limited edition prints, a number of which are still available.

A book was published some time ago that featured a number of his early aviation paintings.

Our Favourite
Excellent lighting and a superb composition in A Test Of Courage make the viewer feel totally involved in the attack by FW 190s on a formation of B-17s.
